How To Keep Your Team Motivated?

The 3 effective ways to keep your team motivated are as follows:

1. Health and Wellness

Health and Wellness - Team Motivation

Health and wellness are key factors to a successful and productive workplace. Nowadays, lack of time is a big stress-inducing factor in work culture. Get rid of the ‘not enough time’ syndrome by encouraging your team to take small breaks for their mental health or to do something they’re passionate about outside their work routine.

These short breaks can help your team to build a stronger bond and create a positive and productive work environment. It will also help them stay focused and energized throughout the day.

You can also encourage your team to take regular walks during their lunch break or after work. This will help them stay active and reduce stress.

Why not offer them healthy snacks and drinks when they come into the office? This will help them stay energized and motivated.

Here are other examples of how you can encourage health and wellness with short and efficient 15-minute activities. You can simply organize virtual or in-person wellness breaks such as Laughter Yoga, Stretching, Meditation, Chair Yoga, or self-massage. Simple yet so efficient!

2. Human Connection

Human Connection - Team Motivation

As team leaders, it is important to foster a sense of connection within our teams. Fun activities can be a great way to encourage people to get to know each other and build strong relationships. Here are some ideas to help you organize interesting activities that will help your team members get to know each other better and build strong ties.

  • Plan a team outing. Going out together can be a great way to get to know each other in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Whether it’s a picnic in the park or a night out at a restaurant, getting out of the office and having some fun together can help foster a sense of camaraderie.
  • Have a team lunch. Why not eat together to get to know each other better and build stronger relationships? It is also a great incentive to encourage hybrid work. Whether it’s ordering takeout or cooking together, having a team lunch can be very effective in getting to know each other in a more relaxed setting.
  • Host a team-building event or organize a volunteer event. Volunteering together is motivating enough to get people to connect while also giving back to the community. Whether it’s a park clean-up or helping out at a local animal shelter, building playschool playscapes for kids’ daycare, volunteering together creates a strong company culture and a sense of appreciation between each other.

When this support system is established, employees take more accountability toward each other and take care of each other. This boosts their mood as well as their performance and sense of belonging.

3. Taking Initiative

Encourage your team to take the initiative and come up with ideas for activities and events. This will encourage them to become more creative and take ownership of their work. Showing your team that their ideas are valued will help foster a sense of appreciation from their team leader.

Start a social club that renews itself quarterly or every six months. This will encourage newcomers to integrate into the team more easily and offer a space for introverts to be more engaged in social activities.

Conclusion

Team motivation can be a daunting task, but it is possible with the right approach. By encouraging healthy work habits, keeping everyone connected, and establishing a trusting relationship with their team, team leaders can create a positive environment that will help everyone stay motivated and productive.
